And for new customers who are interested in booking a class but it appears to be booked, please keep checking because I'm Unable to get online I haven't as yet taken those unable to attend off the system!!! So there are likely to be availability on workshops you are interested in. KEEP WATCHING. subscribing to my mailing list is the best option as I always give 24hour notice of availability to subscribers. For those who have booked and waiting for invoices and information I will get round to it once I get online!!! It's chaos without internet (currently using 3G!!). Help!! Ha ha I will be up and running soon and back to my usual efficient self (I hope). Please Bear with me! :-) Thanks Maz. X

Dear customers I am writing to let you know that MazArt has moved! Whilst this was unplanned at the beginning of the year, the new property is perfect for the future expansion of MazArt and therefore I felt it was a unique opportunity for me to expand upon the workshops - long term this will enable me to provide a much better service and a wider variety of workshops and demonstrations as well as offer much better faculties to cater for all students. The new address is Fair View Farm Bleeding Wolf Lane Scholar Green Stoke on Trent Staffordshire ST7 3BH All workshops from September 2014 will be run from the above address. I am very aware that some of my customers may find it difficult to travel to the new location and I am very sorry if anybody is Disappointed, I will of-course be offering all students the opportunity to retain their place on workshops or for those who are unable to travel a refund will be issued on any monies paid. If you wish to keep your place or would like a refund please email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. stating your chosen option (to keep your place or cancel/refund) the workshop(s) you are booked on, and if possible any relevant invoices. I will over the course of a few weeks issue refunds etc where necessary. I do hope many of you will chose to keep your place and as always appreciate any/all support and good wishes (I have had so many it has been overwhelming), and I'd like to say a huge thank you for that. MazArt will continue to be a huge source of joy for me and teaching and my students have made this past few years incredibly rewarding. I am looking forward to painting and getting back into the new studio with renewed enthusiasm. I hope to see you all there. Sincerely always Maz.

I am rather chuffed with my latest painting. This is a HUGE painting at 50x40 inches, and painted for pure pleasure! I have been so busy with the 2014 schedule of workshops, that I just HAD to stop and paint something just for fun! This is the final version. Just in Time for the World Cup too! Nice and Patriotic! To commission me for a portrait or pet portrait - or indeed anything at all please complete the CONTACT ME form on the website to discuss your requirements.

Well I for one was certainly blown away by the results of the students on Julie Nash's Autumn Still life. Just look at these spectacular paintings. Julies use of rich vibrant colours is outstanding, and the brass simply shines right off the paper!! Everyone went home smiling yesterday and no wonder - they all did such an amazing job. Julie is an author and an incredibly talented artist, but she also has a fantastic ability to teach her students how to use acrylics to really make a painting simply POP! Great job guys. If you are interested in acrylics then be sure to join Julie at her next workshop here at MazArt Studio, this is for a stunning mountain landscape in acrylics and is held on 7th December - there are only a few places left now so please reserve your place early to avoid disappointment! MazArt Studio runs many guest tutor workshops and we cover a full range of medium from Watercolours, acrylics, pencil drawing, oils, and mixed media - you name it and we have an instructor to teach it - and a full range of subjects too! MazArt studio is the place to visit to learn how to paint!

I undertake regular commission for portraits and pet portraits. Commissioning a portrait is a simple process. a) Decide upon the size and style of your portrait, do you want a traditional oil portrait or a dry brush oil, or a pencil? b) check out my prices, based upon sizes and number of subjects to be included in the portrait - do you want a complicated background or a simple blended background (which is included in the basic price). once you are happy simply email me your chosen photo, and we can take it from there. Portrait and pet portrait paintings make a fabulous and unique gift for either yourself or that special someone. I will also under take house commissions etc, so if you have a favourite photo why not make it more special by turning it into a fabulous painting.

A had a fabulous time today painting with Jeremy Ford, and his fabulous "Moonlight" watercolour. Everyone produced some terrific results (and have already booked on the next workshop) Jeremy is a very patient tutor, and explains things so well - everyone took home a painting they were delighted with - well done to Geoff, Joy, Aileen, Amy, Denise, Jill, Chris, John, Connie, Janet & Maureen, and a HUGE thank you to Jeremy for a fabulous and rewarding day. I am already looking forward to the next one! I am also proudly showing off my version of this beautiful painting - as I am rather proud of this especially as water colours are really not my thing. Jeremy really showed me how to create atmosphere and detail, so much so I think I will be trying my hand at watercolours again and again......though I might have a go at this one in oils :-) To book Jeremy's fabulous Christmas floral on the 15th November simply register your place online. But please be quick if you want to reserve a place, as 5 places have been taken already (and they went in the space of half an hour!!! )

Tiger River - By Vic Bearcroft

Have you ever wanted to know how to take a great reference photo for inspiration, and translate that into an incredible painting. Take a look at Vic Bearcroft's beautiful acrylic painting "Tiger River". Here Vic has taken a wonderful photograph of this tiger, the pose is incredible, however the background is very uninspiring. Look how he has transported the tiger from the dull background of the zoo, and placed him back in the heart of the jungle. Tiger River will be the subject of a two day acrylic painting workshop here at MazArt studio in June 2014. To get updated information of when this workshop, and other incredible and inspiring workshops will be taking place please subscribe to my mailing list. Those on my mailing list will always be the first to be informed of any new workshops or events at the studio. It is totally free to subscribe and you can unsubscribe anytime you wish. I had such a great day teaching Blue Jay Beauty mixed media workshop. We began the day with an acrylic background, then blocked in the bird and branch with acrylic. Once that was dried we switched to oils and finished everything off. Everyone did such a great job. To book one of my workshops simply choose a painting you would like to have a go at and register online for the event.

I was recently commissioned to do two paintings for a lovely lady, the oil painting is a gift for her friend, and the dry brush oil portrait (black and white) is a gift to herself. I have really enjoyed doing this pet portrait, and particularly loved the addition of that cheeky cat with its tongue sticking out. Sadly the two white labs and the cheeky cat are no longer with us, but the lovely yellow Labrador Poppy is alive and well. If you would like to commission a pet portrait simply complete the contact me form with your requirements and we can take if from there. To get a good idea of prices please go to my PRICES page where you will see a complete breakdown of prices, but of course do email or CONTACT ME for a more specific quotation.

I had a fabulous 3 days teaching the portrait/pet portrait course. I was very flattered that Alan had travelled each day from Annan on the Scottish boarders after seeing my films on art-tutor.com, which took him around 2 hours each way! Such dedication! And both Wendy and Alan produced really amazing results. Well done to you both, it was a real pleasure these past few days thank you. If you would like to join my next portrait course and paint a portrait or pet portrait of your choice, please see the class schedule for the next workshop.

What an incredible 3 days!!! Firstly am still pinching myself that Roy Lang was here in my house!!! and secondly I am delighted at the incredible results everyone has produced under his expert tuition. Roy is a patient teacher, who really goes out of his way to explain the movement of the sea, and why we painted the way we painted, light through the waves, and reflective light - he was so informative and has a real passion for the sea, which obviously shows in his incredible seascapes. I cannot wait for the next one, as Roy has promised a seascape with a sunset and beach - how exciting!!! You can see Roys fabulous work by visiting his website at http://roylangartist.com/

I had a fabulous day today teaching this lovely little mixed media painting. We began by painting in the buildings in black gesso and then once the acrylic was dry we began to add the oil paints over the top. Everyone's sky was fabulous and yet so different - some had real storms brewing whilst others were just that bit calmer. I love how we are all painting the same painting and yet no two are ever alike - even my own! Great job John, James, Rainhard, Wendy and Liz. If you would like to learn to paint, simply register for one of my exciting classes. I run lots of classes for oils and acrylics, but also host many guest tutor workshops too from pastels to watercolours - so there really is something for everyone! Booking is easy too simply register against your chosen class online!
